This is starting to smack of panic on the Patriot's part.

Some might say, justifiably so, that the Pats prepared well and identified their targets in preparation for the opening of FA...and they would be right on the preparation. But....this would stretch even my extreme "in Beoli we trust" view to the breaking point if we were to give up a #2 for Welker. He is a nice player, but not worth a #2. As for hurting the Fish....who cares really...they will be buried in the basement anyway.

I would pee in this kool-aid and wouldn't even think of drinking it on this move if we give up a 2nd.

They haven't done anything yet they are just looking into it, and I can't balme them for that.

I cited Dillon. The recent years.

I'd rather have Drew Bennett, Donte Stallworth, or Kevin Curtis.

With two picks in the 1st round, the Patriots can afford to be aggressive and give up a #2 for a good player like Wes Welker.

I'm kind of up in the air on this one. I love Welker and all that he brings to the table, but I'm not sure about giving up a second for him. He sure would look good returning kicks for us and making some exciting, clutch plays (like he's done against us), but I still have to think about it.

I agree with you

Thats my read too. I really like him as a player. Is he a 2nd rounder? Seems high, but I sure as hell dont know. BeliPioli do and I respect that. Hes still young. Why not?
