I'm thinking if Cincy cut him loose, he's likely not very healthy.

wow first moulds now simmons
some solid vets being cut that i didnt expect
id def take a shot on both honestly

simmons has played outside and inside
has decent size (6'3" 244 lbs)
and would be a pretty good stopgap type player for us

He could be worth a shot for depth and possible rotation, but not as an every down starter.

well we need one vet inside linebacker
wheter it be him, seau or edwards
we cant just draft a couple
we have to pair bru with a vet and a rookie at least one each

Of course we need one vet inside linebacker, but IMO, Brian Simmons or Seau DO NOT fit the bill. Both of those guys might be okay as situational players, but what we need is a starter. Donnie Edwards might fit the bill, but he is awfully small to play ILB in this defense.

So I'm okay with bringing in a guy like Simmons, or maybe even bringing back Seau (he's gonna be 38 for crying out loud!), but they'd better bring in somebody that can be a viable starter as well.

One of the few class acts in Cincy, he probably wanted to leave with all the crap going on. I believe he is kind of getting up there in age though, and doesn't really fit the mold of a 3-4 LB.

Yes, that's what I was insinuating.

What do you think about taking a look at him.
How about if we just agree to work out every single player who is cut by every team?

Has there been a single player yet that has been cut or rumored to be about to be cut, or whose might be traded, that someone has not asked, "What do you think about taking a look at him?"
