The Jets won. A win is a win. Congratulations.

The Jets were a better club than many gave them credit for at the beginning of the season. If that Pats had lost Brady and Cassel and played some scrub QB, the resulting losing record would not have represented the quality of the Patriots team. Exactly the same applied to the Jets after the 2005 disaster, yet no one seemed willing to grant them any recognition of the fact.

The Jets may get a WC, but in the AFC they are just not strong enough to go far. Now if they were in the minor league NFC, they might get to the conference championship but extremely unlikely in the AFC.

Good Luck

My honest, no holds barred opinion is:

The Jets were the better team that day, but that was because NE played their worst game in over three years. For all the talk about the great game plan, the Jets essentially crowded the line and played up on the WRs. There was nothing all that spectacular about their game plan nor the execution of it.

That is not to say that it wasn't a good game plan, just that it was an obvious game plan considering NE's struggles at WR and OL injuries. It was completely flabbergasting that NE looked like they weren't prepared for it at all.

On offense, Pennington actually played a poor game. His TD to Crotchery was a terrible decision and a poor throw and he was completely let off the hook by a great WR play and a disgustingly poor play by Hobbs. The Jets OL did play a decent game, but, again, it was hard to tell just how well they played when NE was so unbelieveably terrible. Warren was gone and that hurt, but Wilfork and Seymour was totally pushed around. If they could sit here and tell me that they played a very good game and were beat anyway, then I would say the Jets' OL played an amazing game. But I doubt it.

The game plan for the Jets passing offense seemed to be just throw it short and take advantage of the cushion NE gave them. Again, it was surprising how unprepared NE looked in stopping this considering
A) It was a clear thing to do because of how far back NE had played their CBs after losing Harrison and
B) Pennington is only good at throwing short.
It was mindblowing how NE didn't make any adjustment, to the point that Crothery got a 1st down on their final "clock run down" drive on a swing pass on 3rd and 5 with the CB 7 yards off of him.

In short, I think NY made a handful of good plays, many OK plays and a bunch of a poor plays. It was just that NE made one or two good plays and basically the rest of the game comprised of the 5-10 worst plays of any other game, so NY's blah game just happened to be better....barely.

Every team is a "threat" in the playoffs, but I would be surprised to see NY beat NE again.

Golly, the Jests are looking really good and Eric's a really good coach.

If we can't win it, it would be just peachy for the Jets to.

Maybe we could meet in the playoffs and coach Bill could give him a big wet kiss after the Patriots victory.

No it wouldn't - not at all - now friggin way- i would rather see the fins or bills win one before them-that would be super sucky. F the Jest.

Sarcasm alert

This is an example of sarcasm. In extreme examples one of these may be used, but, with practice the warning signs of the sarcastic poster will be recognizable.

Outside of the Patriots, the Jets haven't beaten a playoff level team yet. This leads me to 2 conclusions:

1. The Jets victory over the Pats was a fluke.

2. In the playoffs the Jets won't beat a playoff team. Ergo no threat at all.

I'm sorry, were you talking about Bill Parcells and Bill Belichick?

If that's now the pot calling the kettle black, I don't know what is.
