Default The Official: Junior Seau please come back here next year thread

Sorry to hear the news about Junior. I was wrong about him and glad that I said so a few weeks ago.

He has shown me that he still has something left in the tank. He did a great job with the Patriots and it was more than I had expected.

So, let's swallow our pride and beg him to come back next year. He will still have something to bring and next year he can be in uniform and on the field when he gets his SB Championship ring. This year he has earned and desrves a ring for his contribution but sadly he won't be playing in the big one.

JUNIOR SEAU, please don't "graduate" now. Come back and be a part of the Patriots next year. You still can play the game at a high level, you proved that!

I hope he can continue to play like he has.

BTW: when we win the SB, does he still get a ring. If so, we should win it for him.

Of course he does. You have to pull a Terry Glenn not to get a ring. Junior has been a huge contributor and an emotional leader and will be first in line to get the ring, a la Ray Bourque with the Colorado Avalanche or Rodney Harrison with his arm in a sling in 2003.

Oh yes, he still get's a ring. He contributed to it and the team will "give him' one just like everyone else.

Next year, he can be out there in uniform celebrating with his team mates.

i don't understand any of the "was this his last game?" sentiment. I can only assume they (sports media) instantly go there when an old player suffers a season ending injury, and Seau's previous retirement would obviously add to that.

that said, the guy was having a great year and it isn't a career ending injury. there is no way NE doesn't try to bring him back next year, especially considering their lack of LB depth.

Would like to see a LB drafted in the higher rounds to be an understudy to Seau next season. We'll still need to see a FA or two, plus Gardner will be back. We need youth at this position.

The fans at this site complaining about Seau celebrating, and being fired up, will now get their way. No more emotional leader. No more leading tackler. No more hard hitting from Seau at the LOS.

At least until next year, if we get him back!

I'd like to see Jr. back as well. He certainly seemed to accept his new role and became an integral part of the D. I can't say that I was too excited when they signed him (not against it per se, just thought he was done), but he's proven he still has something left in the tank. Even if it's as a mentor to a young LB.

The one thing that struck me about him was this. He's a guy that has only played 9 games in a Patriots uniform, yet he had tears coming down after that loss to the Jests.
