With Moss it's as if he needs to get it out there ahead of his last contractual season here and say once again that he doesn't feel he will be here beyond this season and he's OK with that. As if if he says it rather than waiting for others to come to him poking him about it his future then it won't be a potentially hurt feelings situation. Like when you preemptively break up with someone you really didn't want to because you sense they may be drifting away from you. Then you can always tell your buddies you were the dumper and not the dumpee...you'll still be friends...you're a FA now...your choice...

Moss is auditioning for 2011. Hopefully that works to our advantage. I doubt his retiring here would have for lots of reasons.
Moss just said he'd love to play here unless the Jets or Miami offer him more money. I guess it's OK to say that.

An exploding head, huh? That might just suck. Seriously, I like all of these guys. As long as theyre wearing our colors, I'll be pulling for good things. I just hate hearing these sort of remarks, and really without merit.

But do you really wanna compare Mankins being upset about working here and breaking his balls here for 6 years at roughly 10mil, to Moss making 27 in 3??

Im not hating on Moss here, only pointing out the obvious. But Im asking really if its just me. Maybe it is just me.

Just my opinion, about some people, probably not you, but i think Mr. Moss has been a little bit taken for granted.

I didn't want him, I thought he was a bad character guy. I've never seen anything but top effort and that's playing almost every snap, running long routes.

Also, we got him for a fourth because he wanted to play here and he took a very friendly contract for a superstar which he is (overused term otherwise).

The guy likes to talk and be friendly, but he gets pounded for every word he says and pounded more if he tries to play hurt like last year, because a hurt Randy Moss can still draw double and triple coverage, which helps the team.

Just my two cents, from someone who didn't want any part of the guy.

Some people are great PR people, he's not. Play hard and keep your head up is all I ask. If he and the team agree, I'd like him back. He gets a little moody sometimes, but i guess you'd have to listen to idiots on 24 hour news incessantly saying what a jerk you are while playing hurt, and looking for any angle to destroy you. I'd probably get myself in a lot of trouble, if it was me.

This pretty well sums up how Ive felt about him, in adding him originally, as well as dealing with him moving forward. So, we're pretty much on the same page here. Id describe Moss as almost a low-key diva.

He's not nearly as vocal as guys like Chad Johnson or TO, but every once in a while he makes it known that he still thinks he's the man.

I dont have a HUGE problem with the comments. I just think they were unnecessary. And Im sure they'll be soon forgotten. And hopefully at no point during the season will we find a reason to re-visit them.

That was a rant for the masses, by the way. Been holding it in.

All WRs are spoiled babies, except for Troy Brown. They generally get much more attention for what their contribution is compared to any other position except QB, which really does deserve the attention.

I think getting accused of causing everything from cancer to global warming everytime you don't score 4 TDs must wear on you and half the stuff he ends up saying is out of frustration of having his words and actions twisted.

If I thought he was a bad guy I'd say so. I think he's justifiably frustrated he can't just play and talk to people like a human being, but let's face it, he can't. Every word is magnified and he's not a diplomat.

Last year Moss had to line up with a WR on the other side who had no business starting for an NFL team. Aiken took no pressure (or double teams) whatsoever away from Moss, who was playing through back and shoulder injuries all year. Welker and Edelman got insane love from the fans all year, while Moss was excoriated by the press and by some fans for "dogging it," "pouting" and whatever else they could up with. All the while Moss just did his job the best he could and didn't complain.

If I were him, I'd feel a bit taken for granted too, as another poster said.

There is a subtle undercurrent of Moss scapegoating around here that some posters seemingly will never get past for whatever reason. I'd go so far as to say that some people see the Moss acquisition as a turning point for franchise--when the Patriots supposedly turned into a "soft," pass-heavy team.
