I'm curious about the specifics of his injuries. But of course, we'll never know.

Brady will be entering the final year of his contract, but said he doesn't really like to talk about those issues. "We're way overpaid as it is," he said. "That's not really a concern."

He added: "Being a player rep now, I realize all the issues we're facing. As a team player, I don't sit here saying, 'What about me? What about me?' I'm under contract. I'm going to out there and play my butt off."

I am so gay for tom brady.

Brady is the player rep now? I thought it was Matt Light. I want Brady paying attention to his throws, not some crap to do with the other players.

No kidding. Those who question his focus or dedication or committment to this team are bonkers. If they only all felt and conducted themselves like Tommy boy we'd probably win every year despite the organizations apparent overall incompetence...

How far away do you think the Patriots are from both those teams?
“Well, we’ve obviously got ... the way it ended, there are a lot of things that we need to do better. I talked about a lot of those things over the course of the year. This is the part of the offseason where you try to solve those problems. And every team has problems. Every team has strengths and weaknesses. It’s about identifying them and trying to figure out ways to improve them.”

Is there one greatest area in your mind that needs to be improved?
“There are a lot of them. The thing I think I focus on is what I need to do better, and there are certainly a lot of things I need to do better as a player, as a leader, as a quarterback, as a mentor. I’m one of the oldest guys on the team now. I’ve seen a lot of good teams and I’ve been on teams that haven’t been successful. Hopefully I can just provide insight to those players in a leadership role that ‘this is what we need to do.’”

I love that he always puts it back on the players and doing more. That's the 6th round mentality that has served us and him so well. That's what comes of winning with that 2001 team. He knows they have areas where personnel need upgrading. He also believes that if everyone focused and worked harder at doing their own job and adopted the kind of will to do whatever it takes win that largely lunchpail crew did, anything is possible. Had too many players on the team this season who let personal issues distract or discourage them. Had too many impressionable youngsters watching veteran guys perform unevenly and then bristle over accountability.

Does it hurt to go home even more at the end of the season, especially as you get older?
“Every year it does. Every team puts a lot of time into it and everyone works hard. I’ve had it great over the course of [my] career – four Super Bowls, five AFC Championship [games]. You never want to rationalize a season, but in reality we didn’t deserve it. We didn’t earn it. The teams that are in it, they earned it. When I watched yesterday, you can see why. They play well, they’re tough, they’re physical, they’re smart, they’re disciplined. I hope all the players on our team looked at that and said ‘OK, well, this is where we have to measure ourselves by and how are we going to get to that level?’”

*begin rant of a typical Pats fan.

Well, it is a well-known fact that Tom Brady is the only member of the NFL to have a wife and children, and to spend time with said wife and children. That slacker. He should be out in a strip club or at a bar trying to pick up chicks like the rest of the NFL players who have their priorities straight. Only then will he start playing like he did before he met Giselle, as opposed to how he has played since, such as his record-setting 2007 season. I never want to see him set touchdown records again. What good did it do? Besides us winning our first 18 games and coming one fluke play away from the greatest season in the history of modern sports? If we ever get that close to 19-0 again, we will be even bigger failures.

*end rant of a typical Pats fan.
