Default All Non-Patriots Team

Here we go...If you woke up tomorrow and all current pats had emigrated to Russia, how would you restock the roster (starters only), regardless of FA status? (I've tried to only include those whom I perceive to be Patriot-type players).

Here's my take:

QB Jake Delhomme
RB Larry Johnson
WR Steve Smith
WR Hines Ward
WR Rod Smith
TE Antonio Gates
T Walter Jones
T Willie Roaf
G Alan Faneca
G Mike Wahle
C Jeff Saturday

CB Ty Law
CB Marcus Trufant
SS Ed Reed
FS John Lynch
ILB Keith Bullock
ILB Zach Thomas
OLB Grant Wistrom
OLB Jason Taylor
DE Aaron Smith
NT Casey Hampton
DE Philip Daniels

K David Akers

Interesting list...I'd take Carson Palmer & Vilma because these 2 are going to get even better. Call me a fool but i also would take Tiki Barber...always liked that guy.

I'd make 4 changes ...

Palmer for Delhomme

Plaxico Burress for Steve Smith

Lofa Tatupu for Zach Thomas

Chris Gamble for Ty Law

Troy Polamalu - plays hard, is very humble, carries himself like a Patriot.

Delhomme is too yappy and whiney to be a Patriot. The guy constantly points are argues with the referees. I'd agree with the Palmer pick; he seems very humble and not eager to jump in the spotlight.

Merriman has to make this team... LT over Johnson... Troy Polamalu has to make it... Champ bailey over either CB you listed... id pick steve smith, but do you really think he's a Patriots-type guy? palmer, vilma, and tatupu should make it.

ps. who thought plexiglass should make it?? wow? ever watch FB dude?

A 6-5 receiver who posted 76c/1214yds/16.0avg/7td/49fd with the Giants (and who's career average is 56c/896.3yds/16avg/4.8td/40.8fd) .... Yeah, I'd take him.

There may be better choices ... Mostly it's a matter of personal preference. No need to be a d1ck about it.

LT - the ultimate 3 down back ... Reed at FS and Polamalu at SS would keep most receivers out of the middle ....

Really? OK, shows your (very limited) FB knowledge... how was PB at the end of the year? he averaged 3 grabs per game over the last 4 games. wow. plus, it is widely known he quit on his team late in the season (oh yeah, that sounds like a pat).. not being a d1ck, but how on earth would you pick that loser as a 3rd WR on a non-pats team? This douche was 9th in yards, and couldnt crack the top 15 in catches? you think he's in the top 3 non-pats WR's?

Not sure what your point should be... Are you saying LT is only a 3rd down back? Who would you take, LT or Corey? What is your point about Reed and Troy at safety? of course they'd both be awesome at safeties. I only said Plexiglass is a terrible choice as a WR.

Tomlinson would be my RB
Vilma and Tatupu at ILB
Reed and Polamalu at safety
Carson at QB
