OT: Ochocinco celebrations - Question - New England Patriots Forums

I have no issue with players celebrating a TD when it is a genuine emotion. C'mon it is a game and guys are not robots. Let them enjoy it. What I am not a fan of is the gimmick celebrations.
Perfect example of the good: When Bruschi picked the ball vs Miami and took it in for the TD in the snow and he went down on his knees. It was simple emotion but it would be a penalty by league rules now.
The Bad: anything Ochocinco does at this point. The guy is a great receiver but he is a jack_ss. His team is rolling and I get the feeling he would almost rather score and dance like a moron than win and not get a chance to make the moment about him.

My question to all of you:

a) would you have a problem if the league told him and Cincinnati that if he gets one more fine this year for celebrating he will get suspended for ONE game? Fines are not stopping him and if the league really want to stop his act they need to up the ante.
b) If the league did that, do you think he would celebrate anyway and take the suspension?

He was on the sideline away from the field of play when he did his thing, I think the NFL is overreacting, I saw no problem with what he did.

Chad is not a problem to me at all. I wish I had a way to help him in fact. This is becoming ridiculous from the NFL.
I am going to start an online petition : "Leave Ochocinco alone".

If the league wants to stop him, all they really have to do is to instruct the networks to keep the cameras off him (or any other player) after a touchdown - just like they have been doing for years with fans who run on the field.

Personally I have no problems with celebrations. Let the clock run just like it does after any other play. If the clock runs out, the team gets a delay of game.

The NFL overreacts ridiculously to Ochocinco's actions. The same league who lets Vick back after slaughtering innocent dogs will fine a player for wearing a sombrero on the sidelines? Please.

Ocho may be an attention wh***, but at least he is entertaining. Would love to see him here. The fine he got for waving the $1 bill at the officials was warranted (prop + impropriety), but I don't know how the league justifies adding $10,000 to that for wearing a sombrero and cape on the sideline. How on earth does that take away from the game??

Ocho Cino is one of the classiest players in the league. He's harmless fun. Stop taking him so seriously.
