So he twitted it wrong... Even Reiss is not immune to the hysteria. Made no sense whatsoever that they signed him to another one year deal they could somehow revisit...

Congrats to TBC. I dumped on him enough, but it looks like he realized a career can be short and is playing hard and smart.

I don't really know what the hell the De/pass rusher/olb role is anymore, but he seems as qualified as any and has grasped the opportunity. Plus he was always good on teams.

I'm always glad to be wrong when a player shows it with his play.

I was always one of the TBC "defenders" saying that he is who he is - a decent player who'll be a good teammate capable of an occasional sack.

Having read the Reiss piece, I wonder : is TBC actually a 1.8 to 1.3 to 1.5 million dollar player ? Maybe next year's potentially uncapped year makes it reasonable, who knows ? Guess that's why I'm asking ? (...and yes, the money is better spent on TBC than Galloway... but regardless of that money I mean)

well he is playing 50-60% of defensive snaps which is just about as much as you can log in this defense unless you are in the defensive backfield.

Understood, but if LT (the unclassy one) and Willie Mac in his prime were on the team, would TBC be on the field ?

Yea - great point. Belichick already cut him once after co-starring in the circus infamously known as the 2007 AFCCG. But you know what? Something about him got him back on this team (after SF discovered their mistake). I don't study tape so I couldn't say.

I still don't want him picking up coverage on Dallas Clark on the turf this January.....

TBC did not get cut.He left as a FA .SF offerred more than Pats did. They wanted him to play all 3 downs for the money. He did not fail he was miscast he was a 3rd down rusher and now plays the same position

He did not cover clark in jan it was eric alexander. No ILB in the league can cover him 1 on 1. the next year we saw rodney play the hybrid role. that game led to the direct change of role of rodney, signing of tank and now mcgown. Mcgown plays the hybrid TE covering bigger safety role . BB went to the 3 safety play after the above as asking even mayo to cover clark type hybrid TE was not going to work.

Good for TBC. He's been our best edge rusher and has provided the most QB pressure to date out of all our rushers. That being said, TBC being our best pass rusher is a little worrying.
