Default NFL sideline reporters protocol?

Regarding the Brady/Suzy Kolber exchange...

Do they have to get permission before the interview? Perhaps through Stacey James, Executive Director of Media Relations?

I don't think so, I think they just corral the player. ESPN, being the suckfest that it is, went to Kolber before she had gotten Brady, and I don't think Brady knew he was on air when he kept trying to tell her he was heading in. LOL at Kolber, it was pretty funny. TB was a lot more polite than I would've been.

I was actually on twitter and all the haters tried to slam brady for that because their guts were torn out so badly by the loss.

Kolber has not done anything for us besides pick against us in superbowls as often as not...

I thought it was really funny. I can't really believe anyone would trash Brady for it though. He just said "I'm going in" but ended up giving her an interview anyway. Big deal.

Also, why do they bother doing these interviews anyway? It's not like they're going to get an interesting answer. They just say "How do you feel?" and the player says "It's good to get a win but we have more to work on". It's the same thing every single time.

It just shows what a joke the sidline reporter is. He said "I'm going in" That is what there is to report. What I would expect from a "good" sideline reporter (yeah right) would be "Tom Brady is going straight to the locker room and does not looked pleased even though Patriots get the win."

It was comical how she chased him then the overhead camera leaves her lost in the crowd.

Why, did I miss a lovefest with Suzy? That is okay with me but I remember her loving the Panthers and Eagles and Steelers in some important games.

Anyway twitter was a riot. The Bills trended for a while with the entire nation on the hatriot theme and then out of the blue Tom Brady trended hard with the nation whining in unison and a lot of 'best QB ever' comments as well.

I'm not one to call Brady out, and I can't blame him if he holds a grudge against ESPN for the Spygate fiasco. However, with that said, he should have stood there and done the interview with her. Her first question was how did it feel to lead a comeback, simple question. If she had started asking about his knee, he could have just said that it felt great and ran toward the locker room after that. Unfortunately, his not wanting to do the interview at first will further fuel the "classless" reputation that he has amongst fans of other teams.
