Default Remember that our DEs and NTs cross train

Seymour started out at NT, and then 4-3 DT
Warren started out at NT
So did Mike Wright and, if memory serves, even Jarvis Green.

Wilfork and Smith have at least practiced at DE.

About the only DL we've had in years who never tried the NT position was the late Marquise Hill.

Is it obvious that Brace is strictly an NT?

I was thinking similarly. Would it be out of the question that he could play LDE? Seems like it would really free up our LB's.

Bruce could play DT in our 43 sets, but he is a DT. You don't want him on the outside.

This is mostly because we've rarely had 2 pure NTs on the roster.

Is Brace too big to play DE in our system? I hope the Pats didnt draft him thinking they wont be able to bring back Vincey next season. I love seymour and think hes awesome but Id rather see Brace replace sey over Vince.

Based on size and lack of known pass rush skill I've been assuming Brace is a pure NT. You guys seem to agree.

You can never be too big as long as you are able to keep your speed and agility. Brace is slooooooow

I love all these conclusions and assessments.

I could see him playing any of the positions onthe d-line.

DE's, especially Warren types, can be decent NTs. I believe there's a technical term for those guys just made to be Nose Tackles, an L.A.

Brace is a Lard Ass, not a potential DE in my opinion.

However, a backup Nose tackle that can get it done is very valuable IMO. It's the most physically demanding position, so a little rest could go a long way and the guy would always have trade value if we luck into a legitimate replacement on the cheap.

He is a backup not bvince. He will never be atheletic as vince for 1.

But next year in 3-4 i want to see

AD,Vince,Brace,Seymour. can you imagine seymour on a RT alone!!.
He was the leading sack man last year for the patriots and also for all 3-4 end in the league.
