I guess, but when you can get a first and then some just for the player. It doesn't make sense to include your own first rounder.

The Pats will get at a minimum a 1st and depending on the position of that pick, they will get another pick, possibly as high as a 3rd.

Its a QB starved league in a QB starved draft year.

Is that the real color (purplish red) or is my monitor fd up? If its what it looks like it should be :banned:

The value charts are antiquated and don't reflect reality at the very top of the draft. There are no real salary cap implications in the value charts - and salary cap is a very big deal. It's pretty fair to use the charts outside of the top 10 or so picks.

Nor do they show a dramatic difference in value between 16th and 17th pick. Yet there is; as the 16th can sign a 6 year contract (maybe reduced to 5 in CBA) but the 17th pick is restricted to a year less maximum contract. That can be significant in CAP management.

Did Cassel address the "hot" rumor that Brady is already getting traded to the 49ers eventhough he will miss the 2009 season and possibly his career? I ordered my Matt Cassel geniune game jersey when I heard the news.

I just tried getting mine and they are already sold out...

But I did order the SF Brady jersey!

It's like purple & white tightly striped. It looks really weird on TV, esp. on a compressed Internet vid like that bc of the aliased lines refresh rate has trouble with separating the colors (or some such technical reason like that). But trust me it's a fresh shirt; the ladies dig it.

I love the talk of his willingness to be a back-up next year. It's a good way to make sure teams are going to have to pony-up to wrestle him away from the Pats if (when) he gets franchised.

I believe what we're seeing is the official marketing of Matt Cassel to trade partners. And I believe New England would be a scary poker opponent. I doubt any other team eyeing Cassel could feel totally certain if they're bluffing about keeping him.
