Default Brandon Meriweather

Our young Safety is starting to look every bit the part. I'm rather excited about his development, as his hands have improved, coverage is getting better and he's getting to the QB for strip sacks on the safety blitz.

If RH is indeed finished after this season (perish the thought), I wonder what tandem we could establish, as I feel BM is becoming a very reliable defender for the Pats.

Great job BM.

I expect another big jump in his play next year then he'll just have small, incremental improvment the rest of the way. Next year will determine if he will be a good Safety or if he'll make a few pro bowls. Worst case, he's a good solid player.

I would also note that Richard Seymour has now bettered his best previous year for sacks, with a game still to go. He still keys the DL and demands double and triple teaming. He leads all pass-rushers in QB hits as well, so even if he doesn't sack them, they know he is coming...

I thought he deserved to not only make the pro-bowl, but resume his position as an All Pro.

He has made quite of few plays this year. He has my vote for the only play maker in the Pats secondary.

He has solidified the SS spot. And this draft has quite a few quality FSs available.

LOVED seeing him come on another safety blitz and force another fumble with another sack.

My first wish would be a beast pass rusher but if not I like Taylor Mays from USC him and Meriweather would be a hell of a S tandem.

Not sure where he's projected but I like Rashad Johnson from Alabama. Coming from a Saban NFL-like defense (being the captain to boot), I think he will be a solid NFL player right away if given the chance.

As for BM, absolutely right. He's made plays ever since he started getting on the field last year, but just never had a chance to do it consistently. Now he's getting consistent opportunities and showing what he's got. Hard to believe this kid hasn't even finished the second year of his career.
