Ok, ok...I know Jets SHOULD have lost. But did them winning really hurt OUR playoff chances. Say they had lost against the Bills and the Dolphins still won. We would still not be Division leaders. And if the Dolphins win next week - they would be playing the Jets for the Division in either case and would definitely have won that game as the Jets would NOT want the PATS to win the Division. Yes - if both the Jets and Phins lost, then that would have benefited us but the Ravens losing was HUGE and more important!
In either case, the Phins or Jets would be playing for the Division in the last week if one of them win out. The Jets losing would have taken them out of the race but wouldn't have benefited us that much...Just my opinion.
I hate it because I live in the NY area and would have LOVED listening to the radio and the rat fans squirming...

Are you saying that in this scenario the Jets would tank the game so the Pats would miss the playoffs? That's incredibly dumb.
This loss hurts because had the Bills won today, then we are one game closer to a home playoff game. If the Jets beat Miami at home, no reason why they can't, then the Pats would control their destiny.

Yup. I believe the Jets wouldn't be playing for anything and would play "softly" especially since a win would mean the PATS taking the Division!
Just as the Ravens loss provided more possibilities, the Jets' loss would have further expanded those.
Now we need one loss among the Ravens, Jets, and 'Phins -- ANY of them -- to live on until week 16.
Naturally, it would be much better not to need that, but we're past that now.
Assuming the Pats win out, if the Fins, Jets, and Ravens all win next week, we only get in with a week 16 meltdown by the Ravens. (We would beat them by W/L record; The Dolphins or the Jets would win the division; we would win the wildcard.)
If the Ravens lose, all we need to do is win our last 2 for the wildcard, since either the Jets or Fins will lose 1.
It would be nice if the Jets were already a game behind us. Then if we won out and they won out, we would win the division. If the Dolphins beat them, we would lose the division but still have our wild-card shot. We would only neeed a Dolphins loss of any kind.
So yeah, we'd have had a higher percentage shot of making it. But the Pats have their hands full with the whole "winning out" thing.

dont think they would throw the game. they could try and win and get in as a WC if balt loses next week .so yes it hurts our div chances.
