Default If JM only had a brain

You guys mocked me for three + years when I drooled over Cassel, and in multiple posts you mock my dislike of Josh McDaniels, but every worm gets a turn. Or something like that.

Yeah, I know the defense let us down Thursday, and I firmly believe that if we had won the toss or if the defense stopped Favre on 3rd and 15, Cassel would have won the game in spite of McDaniels.

So don't bother pointing that out unless you are anal to the point you can't help yourself.

The defense has significant problems they are fighting through. Good for them.

The offense is hamstrung; they are like an army with an imcompetent general. They can win individual skirishes by their outstanding valor, but they will lose the battle every time due to poor leadership.

By all means, shore up the defense. But concurrently, remove the weak link from the coaching staff.

As a minimum, put one of those dog training collars around McDaniels neck, and every time he makes Cassel hand Faulk the ball from a shotgun formation, press the zap button. If it is third and long, hold the button down a LONG time.

Until then, the scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz is called plays (nice guy, but straw for brains).

If He Only Had a Brain

From Shotgun run a draw,
It’s called McDaniels Law:
Then run it once again

The defense is going to screw us,
Because by now they are wise to us
'Cause we’ll run it once again

They’re clogging up the middle,
But to Josh it’s still a riddle,
His brain has vapor lock

Don’t throw it deep to Moss,
Or let him run across
Just run a draw with Faulk.

He’s just another nuffin’
His head is full of stuffin’
He causes us fans pain

There’d be a smile upon face,
And we’d be in the Playoff Race
If Josh only had a brain

I dunno. . . . I'd say that bad snaps and fumbles hurt the O a bit more than JMcD's playcalling. . . .

McDaniels calls a brilliant game in the second half and the same McDaniels bashers come out of the woodwork and still bash the guy. It is amazing how little you guys know about football.

If you mean that Cassel would have won the game in spite of McDaniels that McDaniels had brilliant second half adjustments and did his best to put Cassel in the best chance to succeed. If you mean that McDaniels called a bad game and Cassel carried him, you deserved to be ridiculed and I will mock you some more. You are becoming Tweedle Dee to maverick's Tweetle Dum of the McDaniels Basher's Stupidity Express.

I would vote this as the worst thread of the week, but maverick's predict McDaniels' plays thread beat this one out.

McDaniels is the Marino or Peyton of offensive coordinators. Good OC, puts up pretty stats, horrible in big games and is a choker.

Hey Tweedle Dum. Yep! If the Pats didn't have McDaniels, they could have scored a drive at the end and brought that game into overtime.

Before you go into your typical rants of stupidity. McDaniels had brilliant second half adjustments. Called a crucial game tying TD at the end of the game. Threw down the field to Moss. Wasn't conservative in the red zone in the second half.

You'd think the Pats didn't have 511 yards and score 31 points on offense with a Weis-like final offense drive to send the game into overtime. At least this game will expose Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum as biased McDaniels bashers who can't see the forrest through the trees. I am starting to think they are worse than NEM on this.

Actually I agree the second half was great. Good adjustments overall, the dumb shotgun draw on 3rd and 5 and the moronic shotgun play on 3rd and 1 aside. This loss is on the defense.

But speaking generally, McDaniels is the Peyton or Marino of OC's. For the past few years, and years going forward, there will be hundreds of threads from Stats-obsessed Colts-like-fans defending why we have never won a championship with this guy.

Ok, you think McDaniels is one of the greatest OC of all time? Again, you should really think before you bash the guy when you compare him to guys who are top 5-10 at their position of all time.
