Default Long-term: Could this affect Brady's career?

Could this injury affect Brady's knee/leg for his entire career? Or is it the type of injury where you're just as strong as you previously were after its healed?

lets see, its not is plant leg, and he isn't known for being a runnin qb.

i dont think this is a serious injury long term, but it certainly going to cost him this season, and make it just a bit harder to watch.

It's hard to imagine it's career threatening given the limited mobility Brady needs. Carson Palmer tore his ACL/MCL in the playoffs and was back the start of the next year. When Harrison hurt his knee it was ACL/MCL/PCL and he came back at a position where loss of speed is more of a big deal.

Jerry Rice reported that he had the MCL/ACL tear early in the season after a Warren Sapp hit (1996?). Well anyway, he said it took him 2 yrs to get back to get back to full strength. He also said the recover could be shorter for a QB compared to a WR like him. He also said Warren Sapp still owes him an apology.

Doubtful since Brady is not a scrambler to begin with. Phillip Rivers had his ACL replaced in February and threw for 217 yards and 3 TDs today. And that is only after six months recovery.

Agree. That it happened at the beginning of the season is also a plus. Assuming that it's a "normal" ACL tear, and when they go in there they won't find any worse off than expected, then there's probably a good chance he's 100% at the beginning of next year.

I doupt it's career threatening for sure. Worst case, it's 12 months recovery, and perhaps 18 before he's back at full strength. Again, that's if it's really bad. Most likely, it's the season and he comes back next year good to go.

Technology has improved a lot since then. They've also improved the rehab methodology by getting the repaired knee moving immediately instead of being in a cast for months.
