Re: Tasker: We knew Belichick wouldn't do post game interview
If he knew that, why try to approach him then? Trying to make him look even more aloof just so Sarah Jessica Sharpe could ramble on and on with marbles in his mouf?

That was also my first thought when seeing the thread title.

Wow, Steve. What rare clairvoyance you possess. All the rest of the millions watching were sure BB would cheerfully agree to be interviewed. So, in essence, you and CBS asked him, knowing he would refuse and then you'd be free to make it an issue. What pros...

I need to apologize. My response above was a knee-jerk reaction made before I watched the clip. Once I did watch it, it was obvious that Tasker was very gracious and complimentary about BB and that situation. Even Pipsqueak Mazz admitted feeling differently about BB and the situation after hearing Tasker's explanation. God, anytime I have to admit feeling similarly to Squeaky about any issue is cause for concern and embarrassment.
Re: Tasker: We knew Belichick wouldn't do post game interview
I heard this on the radio today; I'm not sure how many people here are actually listening to what he said. Summary:
In preproduction on the days before the game the subject of a post-lost interview came up; Belichick had done on after the 2006-07 AFCCG loss and told CBS/Trasker he'd rather not, he wasn't very good at it. After the gane, Trasker said, CBS asked Patriots media folks to request an appearance from Belichick — but also gave names of some players should BB decline — which he did. Sounded like everyone basically did their job.
Of course Sharpe blew it up by making a big deal of it — while not knowing the background. Trasker never made it a big issue and he seems not to exactly love the idea that Sharpe did. What I thought was interesting was Trasker said he's done a lot of radio spots around the country since last week and has told this story countless times. Yet, of course, it doesn't get picked up by any media. I know, go figure.
