Both Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe had good days against New England’s defense, with the offense seemingly getting an edge against a defense that had been making life difficult on them recently.

It’s been a full week since the start of training camp, with the New England Patriots beginning their preparation for the upcoming 2023 season.

So far this preseason, it’s been New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones leading the way with the first team during New England’s offensive snaps, while Bailey Zappe has consistently been taking snaps behind him with the second team. That said, it sounds like Belichick has been pleased enough with Zappe’s recent turnaround that he’s going to let the second-year quarterback keep pushing Jones to stay on top of his game. 

The New England Patriots donned pads on Monday, with players seeing some reps with their first taste of full contact during training camp on the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium.

Patriots Back up quarterback Bailey Zappe has gotten off to a slow start during training camp, but Sunday finally saw Zappe put together a solid outing after struggling during the first few days of practice at Gillette Stadium.

“(Belichick) will forever be my guy,” Judon tweeted in a quoted response. “(I) don’t let that money affect my emotions, Asante.” Mic drop.

What Did We Learn from the 1st Three Practices? We didn’t learn much but there were a few items.

Thursday was another day down in the red area for the New England Patriots offense and once again, it was the defense that held the edge and made life tough on the other side of the football.

Leonard Fournette and Darrell Henderson worked out for the team Wednesday.  Fournette is 28 years old and not the running back he once was.  However, as a change of pace, a backup to Rahmondre Stevenson would be great insurance.  Fournette is 6’ 228 lbs and looks bigger than his actual size because he runs so upright. 

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette is in town working out for the Patriots, citing a source.

As the fallout from the DeAndre Hopkins news continues, it sounds like we finally may know for sure which receiver could have been pushed out had Hopkins ended up in New England.
