As it currently stands, Elliot Wolf has been the person most involved as the club began building its coaching staff.  Wolf, who is the lone person in the building with any real contacts outside New England, has seemingly led the way as the club has rounded out its offensive staff.

Bill O’Brien quietly departed the New England area this offseason to accept the job as offensive coordinator with Ohio State, but it sounds like he may not end up ever calling a single play for the Buckeyes.

Another Belichick is parting ways with the New England Patriots, with Steve Belichick reportedly set to take a position in the college ranks.

During Bill Belichick’s final press conference for the New England Patriots, he talked about the fact he and owner Robert Kraft were parting ways, seeming measured and stoic as he spoke to reporters.

He didn’t answer any questions as he and Kraft delivered the news.
However, Belichick’s voice notably broke as he talked about the fans in the region and how much it all meant to him before he walked out of the door for the last time.

It was a surprise when Cleveland fired him. The Browns used five different quarterbacks, yet they still finished tenth in scoring in the NFL. 

The West Team defeated the East Team by a score of 26-11 The Offensive MVP was RB Frank Gore Jr. from Southern Mississippi, and the Defensive MVP was CB Jarius Monroe from Tulane. 

The Patriots finished off what could be their most significant addition to their coaching staff on Thursday, surprising everyone by hiring former NFL quarterback Alex Van Pelt as their offensive coordinator.

Coming off of the news the Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots were parting ways several weeks ago, it felt like the only question was where and not when Belichick would be back leading a team in 2024.

The East-West Shrine game will be played Thursday night (8:00 NFL Network).  The practices are more important to the scouts than the game itself is.  The first practice was held Saturday, and the final practice will be Tuesday.

Why have the Patriots not named an Offensive Coordinator?  Some speculate the offensive Coordinator position in New England is not an attractive position to the leading candidates. 

Following his departure from the New England Patriots, there seemed to be little doubt that given the amount of openings that were continuing to become available around the league, Bill Belichick would be on someone’s sideline in 2024.  The only question would just be where he’d end up.

We are in Phase One of the Mayo era, and he is conducting interviews with quite a few coaches for the Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams coordinator positions.
