The final tally of 11 selections in the 2025 NFL Draft reflected a clear and focused effort by the New England Patriots to reshape their roster under new head coach Mike Vrabel. The 2025 Patriots draft picks selected were well-rounded, ranging from a foundational offensive tackle in the first round in Will Campbell to intriguing late-round specialists in kicker Andres Borregales and long-snapper Julian Ashby.  This draft class infused the team with character, versatility, and explosive playmakers, which were definitely missing over the last couple of seasons.

Here is the current list of the 2025 New England Patriots draft picks for the 2025 NFL Draft.

The club started with nine draft selections, having added a 5th round pick (171st overall) from the Joe Milton trade to the Dallas Cowboys.

However, they made two trades on night two, trading back from 77th overall to 85th while adding a fifth-round selection, and then traded back again from 85th overall, moving to #95 overall while acquiring a 2026 4th-round pick.

They made a trade on day three, trading up for the 137th overall pick with Seattle to draft Florida State DT, Joshua Farmer.  They gave up picks #144 and #238 in that trade.

Patriots 2025 Draft Notes – Vrabel Happy With Campbell Pick

The Patriots made their selection on Thursday night, taking LSU’s Will Campbell with the 4th overall selection.

New England Patriots head coach was excited following the selection, noting that his character was just as important as his play on the field.

“This is a young player who cares deeply about the team, is a leader in that room, but to compare him to me or anybody else,” said Vrabel. “But we love his football character, his play demeanor, his play style, how coachable he is. A 21-year-old player that started 38 to 40 games in the SEC is something that is impressive.”

When asked about where he sees him playing and whether he can be a left tackle in this league, Vrabel said that’s where he’s started, and that’s where he expects him to play for his football team.

“Yeah, I mean, that’s where started, and he’s a left tackle. That’s what he’s played. That’s what he’s done. And so he’ll come in here and he’ll compete to be the left tackle just like everybody else is going to compete for their spots. That’s what we’re trying to create here is something that there’s competition at every position, and that our players believe that the best players are going to play.”

Campbell: This is where I wanted to be

Campbell told reporters after being drafted that he’s excited to be a Patriot, saying it’s where he wanted to be ahead of Thursday night.

“This is where I wanted to be since the start,” said Campbell.  “Eliot Wolf came to my practice whenever I was … probably about week five of the season, and I told him this is where I wanted to be. We’ve had great connections throughout this entire process.”

As far as how he would describe himself, Campbell’s description should have most fans excited to have him as an addition to New England’s offensive line.

“Nasty,” said Campbell when asked how he’d describe himself.  “I’m going to go out there and give everything I have, every single play, to protect my teammates, protect my quarterback, and just put the Patriots in the best position possible to help win games on Sundays.”

Henderson Brings a New Dynamic to Patriots Offense

Based on his film, Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson appears to be a dynamic running back that should be fun to watch in Josh McDaniels’ offense.

“I’d say I’m fast, I’m explosive, I’m good in one-on-one matchups,” said Henderson after being drafted.  “My receiving ability, my blocking, I pretty much can do it all.”

He’s got great speed but is also a terrific guy in pass protection, as well as being a threat out of the backfield.

Williams is an Explosive Receiver

Looking at Kyle Williams film the Patriots grabbed yet another explosive player.  He’s got unreal change of direction and he’s lethal in the open field.  He’s also a player who makes life miserable for defenders in one-on-one match-ups, making him an intriguing addition to a receiver room that currently has 10 players heading into training camp.

“Yeah, Kyle Williams started his career at UNLV, ended up at Washington State, had a really productive junior year when Cam Ward was a quarterback there, and then continued that on this year,” said Eliot Wolf Friday night. “Fast, can play outside and inside, really good with the ball in his hands. For an undersized guy, he’s really tough. He doesn’t shy away from anything. He can block. And just had the opportunity to visit with him on his 30 visit here, and he really has a great personality, and we’re excited about what he’s going to add to the room from that perspective.”

Wilson a Solid Center Pickup

Jared Wilson is a highly rated player who adds a big talented player who can play both center and guard.

Out of the list of 2025 New England Patriots draft picks, he’s another player who provides some versatility.  Wolf said Friday night he expects both he and Cole Strange to compete for both the center spot with veteran Garrett Bradbury, as well as the left guard spot.

“Yeah, I can see that being a possibility,” said Wolf when asked if Wilson might also compete at guard. “Most of his experience has been at center in this past year, but he had played guard. Or he was basically the sixth man at Georgia prior to this year. So he’s got experience practicing and playing at guard there. So I think center is ultimately going to be his best position, but we’ll get him in here, see what he can handle mentally and see what he can do.”
