Patriots Bring Free Agent RB Fournette In For Workout

With New England Patriots training camp now one week away, it appears the team is continuing to do a little due diligence before they get back to work.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette is in town working out for the Patriots, citing a source.
Many likely remember how valuable Fournette was during the Buccaneers’ championship run in 2020, when he and former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady played significant roles in helping the club bring a title to the Tampa Bay region.
Bringing in Fournette would round out what’s already a fairly talented running back group led by Rhamondre Stevenson, but the Patriots are also likely trying to make sure they can spread out Stevenson’s workload a little better heading into 2023.
Behind Stevenson, they currently Ty Montgomery, Kevin Harris, and Pierre Strong Jr. on their roster.
New England is also rumored to have interest in former Vikings RB Dalvin Cook, although no reports have surfaced just yet of any potential meetings.
The Patriots will hold their first public training camp practices one week from today with the times to be announced.
