In the aftermath of his decision to retire from the NFL, the former Patriots safety decided to thank his fans in a big way.
Over Instagram Tuesday. McCourty showed off one of the 37 billboard ads he purchased with the following message;
“Thank You, NE!”
“You helped a young kid become a man, father, husband, and a 3X champ,” McCourty’s billboards read alongside some photos from his career.
According to the Boston Globe, the billboards are across eastern Massachusetts, so if you’re out of state, here’s what it looks like below.
McCourty officially announced his retirement on March 10th after 13 seasons in New England, winning three Super Bowls, two Pro Bowl selections, and three second-team All-Pros.
The billboards won’t be the last time fans see McCourty, as he’s all but a shoo-in for a Patriots Hall of Fame induction.
