For the seventh consecutive season, New England Patriots long-snapper Joe Cardona has been named the team’s nominee for the annual NFL Salute To Service Award presented by USAA.
A fifth-round draft pick of the Patriots in 2015, Cardona has been on mainstay for the kicking unit while balancing a career as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy.
Throughout his Patriots’ tenure, Cardona has led numerous military support initiatives like free football clinics on military bases and has performed re-enlistment/retirement ceremonies.
Earlier this spring, Cardona met with agents at the FBI’s Boston division for Military Appreciation Month. In October, he joined teammates Cole Strange and Brenden Schooler on a visit to the USS Constitution to speak with Naval service members.
