ICYMI: Julian Edelman Places Big Bet For A Patriots/Buccaneers Super Bowl
Greg M. Cooper - USA TODAY Sports
With the 2021 NFL Playoffs set to begin this weekend, there is one former Patriot showing strong confidence that his former team can make a run at the Super Bowl.
Over social media earlier this week, Julian Edelman shared a photograph of a bet slip featuring $50,000 on the Patriots to win the AFC but he didn’t stop there. In a second bet, Edelman placed another $50,000 on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to also qualify for the Super Bowl as the NFC representative.
The good news for Edelman, it appears he used money that was initially paid to him by Wynn Sportsbook instead of out of his own pocket, but either way, it’s still a gutsy bet.
Like many fans, Edelman is seemingly rooting for a reunion matchup between “Mom and Dad” (Bill Belichick and Tom Brady) in Los Angeles.
Presently, the Patriots odds of making Super Bowl 56 are (+750) while a Buccaneers’ opportunity to play for a repeat is (+350).
Following the news of his big bet, Edelman shared a few funny reactions from a friend and even his father Frank.
While the odds of Edelman’s Super Bowl pick coming to fruition may be a long shot, in his own words from the past “You Gotta Believe”.
