Social Media Recap: Former Patriot James Develin Runs Boston Marathon
Jay Biggerstaff - USA TODAY Sports
On Monday, the annual Boston Marathon, at last, made its return to the New England region following a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although traditionally scheduled for April, the 125th event took place on Monday and former Patriot and three-time Super Bowl champion James Develin was one of the thousands of participants, running as a member of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation team.
“It was a surreal experience,” Develin later told WBZ-TV’s Eric Fisher after finishing. “I didn’t know what to expect. This was my first experience at the marathon and it was absolutely awesome from Mile 1 to 26.2. It was a great time.”
According to WBZ, the 33-year-old Develin completed the course in 4:27:17.
At the conclusion of his run, Develin posted some photographs recapping his day over Instagram.
A few of Develin’s Patriots teammates tweeted out their support and fullback Jakob Johnson met up with him at the finish line in downtown Boston.
