Jerry Lai - USA TODAY Sports
On Day Two of the NFL Draft the New England Patriots added yet another talented player out of the University of Alabama, trading up to pick 38 and selecting defensive tackle Christian Barmore.
The Patriots sent their second round pick (46th overall) and two fourth-round selections (Nos. 122 and 139) to the Cincinnati Bengals for the ability to draft Barmore.
When asked what it meant to become the 12th Alabama player ever chosen by Bill Belichick, Barmore had the following to say;
“Being selected by Bill Belichick, and especially learning from my guy, Coach Saban the GOAT, it’s a blessing playing for both of them. Really a dream come true.”
The Patriots media team later released behind-the-scenes footage inside the Patriots draft room the moment they chose Barmore.
Take a look at Barmore’s first phone call with Belichick and Robert Kraft below.
