Over the past six years, New England Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona has balanced both playing professional football and military service time in the United States Navy.

On Tuesday, Cardona provided fans a behind-the-scenes look into his Navy career with a few throwback photos from his active duty time in South Korea.

“We Go Together!” This time 3 years ago I was in Korea for my “day job”. Favorite part? Staring down some DPRK (North Korean) guards”, Cardona wrote in a caption.

During Cardona’s tenure with the Patriots, head coach Bill Belichick, a noted Naval Academy supporter, has honored Cardona’s military service.

In June 2019, Belichick hosted Cardona’s promotion to lieutenant in a special ceremony alongside his Patriots teammates at Gillette Stadium.

Meanwhile this past weekend, Cardona was included in a two-minute tribute video honoring Belichick at a Navy Lacrosse game where he received the key to Annapolis, Maryland, his hometown.

Cardona’s duel jobs remain a constant reminder how much of a “true Patriot” he really is.
