On Wednesday, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman wrote an open letter to Miami Heat center Meyers Leonard following Leonard’s use of an anti-Semitic slur during a recent video game livestream.
As a result of his actions, Leonard has been suspended from the Heat indefinitely and fined $50,000 from the NBA.
Edelman, who is Jewish, shared his letter over social media, even inviting Leonard to a Shabbat dinner.
You can read Edelman’s full message to Leonard below.
In recent years, Edelman has become outspoken against anti-semitism.
Last summer, Edelman invited then-Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson to the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., after he wrote anti-semitic posts over his social media accounts.
