One thing that stood out on Sunday night was how confident the Buccaneers looked compared to the Chiefs, with Tampa Bay appearing focused and certainly the more physical of the two clubs during the team’s commanding Super Bowl 31-9 win over Kansas City Sunday night.

Apparently, some of that confidence came from Tom Brady who, according to YAHOO! Sports Dan Wetzel, texted teammates the night before the game to tell them what to expect.

For a player who studies film more than most players, Brady appeared to notice some things that he wanted to make sure his guys were ready for.

“He was on point, he was telling us what to expect,” said running back Leonard Fournette. “He was telling us they weren’t very good at tackling.”

That meant he wanted them to go out and punish Chiefs defenders, which is exactly what they did.  Fournette and teammate Ronald Jones combined for 60 first-half yards, with each player finishing with a run of beyond 10-yards.  Both players hit the hole hard and drove defenders back, with the Buccaneers setting the tone and taking control of the game from the start.

Brady also told them all one other big thing and that was, “We will win this game.”  Fournette said those words made them all believe.

They didn’t let up, with the Buccaneers eventually piling up a total of 145 yards as Fournette finished with 89-yards rushing along with a touchdown, while Jones finished with 61 yards on 12 carries.  Both players averaged over 5-yards-per-carry, which helped keep the Chiefs off balance as Brady took care of the rest after throwing for 201-yards and three touchdowns.

That’s the difference when you have a player who has been there before and won.  Thanks to Brady, he gave them the confidence to believe they could get it done and Fournette and his teammates now have a Super Bowl Championship to show for it.
