Over the past three decades, cornerbacks sporting the jersey number 24 have brought some sustained excellence to the position for the New England Patriots.

This week, NFL Films released a short web video featuring two of those corners, Ty Law and Stephon Gilmore watching and breaking down key plays from their careers together.

Law shared the video over Instagram.

“Nothing better than chopping it up and breaking down some of our best plays. Proud of what you’re doing on the field @bumpnrungilmore and appreciate you keeping the ‘24’ legacy alive! Thanks @nflnetwork for making this happen, I live for this stuff”, Law wrote.

Take a look at NFL Network’s “Generations” in Law’s Instagram post below.

Since signing with the Patriots in 2017, Gilmore and Law have developed a close friendship.

In August 2019, Gilmore joined a group of Patriots who attended Law’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony and shared his thoughts on watching his play.

“Ty is a physical guy – I’m a physical guy too, so that’s one thing that I admire about him. They changed the rules because of him, because he’s so physical at the line of scrimmage, nobody could get open, but that’s one thing I admired about him a lot – he made big plays in big moments. The game was never too big for him”, Gilmore said at the time.

Heading into the 2020 season, Law shared what he sees in Gilmore and the expectations he has for him.

“He’s the real deal. And he still seeks advice and asks questions,” Law said. “He’s still eager to learn. If he keeps it up, he’ll be around a long time. One day, you’ll see him in the Patriots Hall of Fame, and the NFL Hall of Fame, as well.”
