On Thursday, EA Sports formally announced New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore as a member of Madden NFL’s “99 Club”, meaning he has obtained the highest overall rating possible for the longtime football video game.
EA Sports released footage over Twitter featuring Gilmore’s wife Gabrielle and daughter Gisele surprising the reigning Defensive Player of the Year with the news of his ranking at their home.
“Wow. Who would have known? A little kid from Rock Hill,” Gilmore said reflecting on the honor.

Gilmore joins Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald, and Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey in Madden 21’s 99 club, which is set to be released August 25th 2020.
