2020 season is going to be a unique season for many reasons, but because Tome Brady is In Tampa Bay, the NFL Sharks can smell blood in the water.  They are all circling around what they perceive is a wounded animal.  The Patriots have THE WORST schedule of any team in league.  Could the league have made it any harder?

Everyone wants to see the demise of the Patriots.  The league schedules them for five prime time games, 2 Monday Night, a Sunday Night and a Thursday Night.  The back to back games in LA is nice but at a cost.  The 2nd game is against the Rams on Thursday.

Ridiculous.

They end up with an early bye in week six just before the SF home game.  Of the 1st 8 games, I could see them going 4-4 which I actually think would be good.  This is the complete opposite of what last year schedule was.  They will be playing quality opponents early and often.  Last year the creampuff schedule bit them in the butt when they had to play better teams late in the year.

Will there be fans in the stands?  Hope not … especially in SEA and KC, two of the toughest places to play.  Both road games are in the 1st four weeks.   They have MIA at Foxboro for the opening game, a distinct advantage for Miami.  It means Miami during Christmas week, where the heat will be an advantage for Phins.

Not having fans in the stands will be a bonus for LA Chargers, since most of the fans that attend their games are cheering for the opponent.

At Bills followed with at Jets (Monday Night) only to come home on a short week to face Ravens.

With the inexperience at QB, brutal schedule and what I anticipate to be a large turnover in the roster, it looks like 9-7 at best and a struggle to make the playoffs.  The one advantage is the Patriots have Bill Belichick.  In Bill we trust!

About Mark Morse

Merrimack Valley native and lifelong fan of the New England Patriots. My earliest memories of the Patriots were attending as a child with my dad, the off-season practice at Phillips Academy. I was at the Patriots game at Harvard Stadium in 1970 where Bob “Harpo” Gladieux was called out of the stands by the stadium announcer over the PA to play in the game. Analyzing the draft since ESPN first started to televise it in 1980 and former writer for the Lowell Sun Newspaper.
