Just when you thought #BradyWatch2020 couldn’t get any more ridiculous, it does.

On Monday, NFL Network released enhanced audio that reveals what Tom Brady actually said when ESPN cameras caught him courtside at the UNC/Syracuse basketball game and surprise surprise, it wasn’t what most thought it was.

For quick background, Brady was in attendance at the Carrier Dome alongside Julian Edelman and Jimmy Fallon this past Saturday.

At one point, ESPN cameras focused in on the trio and Edelman shouted, “He’s coming back. He’s coming back” to which Brady, looking however which way you want to interpret “body language”, replied saying something unknown and the speculation commenced.

The always reliable internet (sarcasm), namely Twitter, felt Brady replied to Edelman saying either “he’s not” or “this guy”, and panic ensued among the newly doctored lip readers.

Well we now have an answer thanks to modern technology, take a listen below.

In this audio version, you can hear somebody off camera asking Brady what he said to Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim.

Brady replied shaking his head and just said, “He’s got it.”

So there you have it, Brady did not reveal his NFL future in upstate New York at a college basketball game and the context had nothing to do with Edelman’s comments at all.

March 18th can’t come soon enough.
