During Sunday night’s matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, NBC Sports cameras caught a Patriots fan throwing beer at wide receiver Tyreek Hill following his go-ahead, 75-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Patrick Mahomes with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

After Hill scored, his momentum carried him through the back of end zone to the wall where he was met by fans giving him the middle finger along with the beer dousing. The incident occurred next to the “Optum Field Lounge”.
On Monday afternoon, the Patriots responded to the incident with the following statement, taking action against the fan.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Hill and his agent plan to take further action against the fan.
Tyreek Hill and Drew Rosenhaus want to take action against fan that doused the Chiefs WR with beer Sunday. They are talking to the NFL/NFLPA about options. “That type of behavior is unacceptable,” Rosenhaus said. “Players have to be protected. We want that fan to be prosecuted.”

Hill was asked about the incident following the game.
“My coach [Andy Reid] told me, ‘Don’t get emotional. Don’t get mad about it, because it comes with the territory,'” Hill said, according to Boston.com. “I’m not mad at all.”
As of 4:12pm Monday, the Foxborough Police Department formally charged the fan according to WBZ-TV Boston.
