On Wednesday, the New England Patriots made the trip to the White House to be honored by the President for being Super Bowl champions.
Quarterback Tom Brady is a notable absentee from the event after saying in a statement to ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss; “In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters. Hopefully, if we accomplish the goal of winning a championship in future years, we will be back on the South Lawn again soon. Have a great day!”
On Instagram, Brady then provided a hint as to just what the family situation may be as the White House trip shares the same date as his parents wedding anniversary to go along with a report his mother is in Boston.
His mother, Galynn Brady has been battling an undisclosed illness for the past year but did make the trip to Houston for Super Bowl LI, her first game of the season.
A few days ago Brady also shared a picture of his mother with his daughter Vivian.
