During the New England Patriots “Opening Night” media session in Houston Monday night, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was asked a wide range questions both humorous and serious but none of them stuck to his heart more than a question about who he considered to be his personal hero.
The heartfelt question was asked by 7-year old Joseph Perez who was seen sitting on top of ESPN’s Trent Dilfer’s shoulders. According to a Yahoo Sports story, Perez was the winner of a “Panini Super Bowl Kid Reporter” contest that allowed him to ask one question to Brady. Joseph got his moment and asked, “Many people think you’re their hero, but who’s your hero?”
Before answering, Brady got noticeably choked up and appeared to be holding back some tears before saying, “I think my dad is my hero, because he’s someone I look up to every day.”
The Boston Herald’s Steve Buckley caught the moment as it happened.
