In news first reported by ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss on Thursday, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been fined $26,000 by the NFL for a hit on a defenseless player during Sunday nights 23-21 win over the Arizona Cardinals.
According to Reiss’ sources, Edelman will appeal the fine.
NESN’s Zack Cox was able poinpoint the illegal hit in the following Vine clip, Cardinals linebacker Deone Bucannon (20) was drilled in the facemask by Edelman but a flag was never thrown on the play.
LRT: Gonna guess this was the hit that earned Edelman his fine. https://t.co/5yiEYUjM2P
