While the entire world watched the opening night ceremonies, seeing Gisele Bundchen make the walk across the arena to the sound of “Girl from Impanema” was one of the show-stopping parts of that evening.

Her husband, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, watched the event and was impressed with his wife’s poise and the fact she went out and represented her country in a big way that night.

Brady met with the media on Sunday and was asked about that evening, and it was one that he said, to him, was certainly one of the highlights of the Olympics thus far.

“It was amazing to see her out there and do that,” Brady told the media on Sunday.  “It was the best part of the Olympics for me, and it got over on opening night, so there hasn’t been much reason for me to watch outside of seeing her represent her country.”

One of the most impressive parts of that walk was the distance, which saw her come out on one side of the arena and walk the entire length in 5″ stilettos.  But overall, it was one of the most memorable parts of the night for the Brazilian native, and Brady was definitely proud of how she handled it.

“It’s pretty amazing, she’s an amazing woman, an amazing mother, and she represents the best of Brazil, as far as I’m concerned,” said Brady. “It was a pretty amazing spectacle and she’s an amazing person.”
