As it was previously reported, New England Patriots safety Nate Ebner is currently taking a leave of absence from the team to complete in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio with the United States Rugby team.
During the early Thursday morning practice session at Gillette Stadium, ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss first discovered that teammate and fellow special teamer Matthew Slater chose to wear Ebners “43” jersey as a show of support.

“I have a lot of respect for that guy. I wanted to show him a little love today…This is supporting him as he chases his dream,” Slater told Reiss following practice.
