It is not the way Patriots fans would have liked quarterback Tom Brady to be there, but as first reported by Kevin Clark of the Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Brady will be in fact apart of the pregame celebration with all of the past living Super Bowl MVP’s in Santa Clara CA.

The news puts and end to the mystery surrounding whether or not Brady would attend the Super Bowl following the Deflategate case fallout with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. It is a case that is still ongoing and expected to be heard in court again March 3rd following the NFL Appeal to Judge Berman’s ruling that vacated Brady’s 2015 suspension.

Brady posted on his Facebook page last April the letter invitation he received for the event, of course hoping he would be suited up to play, not in an actual suit. Brady is a native of nearby San Mateo, roughly 26 miles away from the stadium in Santa Clara where the game will be held Sunday.

His father, Tom Brady Sr., who has spoken openly and publicly in defense of his son following the controversy, told Chris Gasper of the Boston Globe Wednesday, “He said he would let us know soon. I have no idea whether he is going to do it or not do it,” said Brady Sr. “I didn’t know he was going to Michigan until I read the paper.” You can read the rest of Gasper’s interview with Brady Sr. HERE.

It appears either win or lose, Roger Goodell and Tom Brady will be meeting face to face yet again on the big stage.
