Patriots vs Broncos: Tom Brady PostGame Transcript

On his thoughts on fighting back with all their issues and the drive to force overtime:
Yeah, it was a great drive. A lot of guys made some good plays, Steve [Gostkowski] made a great kick. I was glad we had a chance there. Just didn’t ultimately make the critical plays when we needed to. We had plenty of opportunities out there. But it just wasn’t our night.
On the pass interference calls and what they can tell the tight ends to avoid it:
I don’t know. No idea. I mean, they have meetings about it and, we have…you know…but it never…you know, just wasn’t…who knows… I have no clue.
On how difficult it is to see Gronkowski go down and the fact he’s obviously hoping for the best…
Yep, yep, yep absolutely. He’s been through a lot. He’s a tough guy. So hopefully it’s not too serious, we’ll see. But you know, all our fingers are crossed.
On if he thinks it’s a dirty thing, guys diving at their legs:
I mean, I wouldn’t say it’s…you know…I hate to see it, but, I mean it’s really the only way for the defenders to hit now so it’s… I bet you if you asked probably a lot of the players they’d probably rather you go high than low. But when you go low, that’s what happens. I don’t think it’s dirty, I just think that’s the way football is being played now.
On after losing Dion Lewis, Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and now Gronkowski if they can keep moving on suffering all these losses:
Well, we’ll keep fighting, I know that. You know, we lost tonight, it was a tough game, to come on the road, we had a good lead. We just made … didn’t make enough plays in the 4th quarter. So, it’s tough to win and certainly, you know, when you lose good players it hurts. It always hurts to lose, you know we had plenty of opportunities to win and, you know, we’ll try to get back to work this week and figure out how to put together a plan that we’re confident in to go out and win next week.
On the final drive and Scott Chandler’s contribution:
Yeah, we’re going to need to rely on him quite a bit. I think one way or another he’s going to have to be a major contributor for our team and it was good to see him do that and we’ll see how it goes going forward.
On the fact he’s said you can’t replace a Dion Lewis, same thing with Julian Edelman and certainly Rob Gronkowski:
Yeah, I mean, he’s the best tight end in football. So it’s just…you know, it’s so hard to see these guys get hurt like this and I always have a lot of respect for players who play this game because you risk a lot to play and I think a lot of times that gets overlooked because you know you sacrifice a lot and I think guys sacrifice their bodies and you know it’s hard to see your friends get, you know, taken down like that. And you know, it’s part of the sport and we understand that but it’s also…you know I have a lot of respect for the players who take the field.
