FOXBORO, MA — Wide receiver Terry Glenn is day-to-day, but this time it has nothing to do with his hamstring.

This time it has to do with whether or not he’ll be returning to the line-up.

After meeting with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on Wednesday night, the two sides reportedly came to an agreement that will have Glenn back in practice on Thursday and also possibly back in the line-up. The troubled wide receiver hasn’t practiced with the team since back in October, and has only played in one game this year which came against the San Diego Chargers in week 5. Glenn pulled up lame the following Wednesday in practice with a pulled hamstring and hasn’t practiced since.

It appears however that with the team sitting at 7-5, the star receiver may finally be returning, but Belichick says that for now he’ll evaluate Glenn on a “day-to-day” basis and then take it from there.

“I met with Terry last night and I expect him to practice today,” said Belichick on Thursday. “I think we moved ahead, he’s going to practice today and we’ll take it day-by-day from here, that’s better from where we’ve been for quite a few weeks.”

Belichick said the meeting lasted about an hour, to an hour and a half. He wouldn’t get into what what said saying that he didn’t feel it was right to give the details of a private conversation.

The second-year coach has had some difficult decisions to make this season, including his decision to stick with current starter Tom Brady following an injury to current back-up Drew Bledsoe. The decision to bring Glenn back was based on what he felt was best for his football team, and he’s not concerned with how some of the players may feel about the decision.

“It’s not their decision to make, it’s my decision, and I’m making it and I’m telling you what I’m doing,” said Belichick. “I’m sure you could take a poll on just about anything and I doubt that it would be unanimous. You’d have mixed opinions, and that’s fine. Somebody’s got to make a decision, it’s my job to make it, this is where we are today.”

“I feel like all the decisions that I need to make are based on our football team, and on trying to be fair to everybody that’s involved. I try to do the best I can on that, I’m not saying that it’s perfect or easy, but I try to take everything into consideration and make the best decision I can for the football team and the organization, and be fair to everybody that’s involved.”

When asked about how the decision to bring him back could effect the chemistry of the football team, Belichick simply said that Glenn has been here since the San Diego game and that “there’s really no change.”

Glenn has had a history of saying one thing and then doing another this season. Belichick said he’ll simply evaluate the situation as it comes.

“I’ll just evaluate the situation as it comes,” said Belichick. “He hasn’t practiced for a while, I expect him to practice today, we’ll see what tomorrow brings. Tomorrow’s tomorrow, I really don’t know.”

“I’m not going to try to make any predictions, I’m not going to try to set any expectations, there’s no need to. We’ll evaluate it after we’re on the field today and we’ll move forward tomorrow.”

“The bottom line is that I expect him to practice today, and we’ll take it day-to-day from there. That’s really about the extent of it.”
