The Patriots reportedly continued looking at receiver prospects, with ML Football reporting that Rhode Island University standout Ed Lee is among players the team is meeting with.

UCLA Guard Atonio Mafi visited with the Patriots on Wednesday. Mafi, whose homeland is Tonga, recently said he's excited to make it to the NFL and represent his country. "I can’t wait to get to the NFL to let the world know more about the Tongan people and what we represent," said Mafi. "We come from a small island nation thousands of miles away, but we’re still doing it big."

Boston College WR Zay Flowers is expected to visit with the Patriots on Wednesday. He's also reportedly planning on attending the NFL Draft after accepting his invitation to the event.

According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, tensions apparently remain high between head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Mac Jones, with Belichick reportedly having shopped the third-year signal caller this offseason. While Florio didn't know the exact destinations, he was told that the teams mentioned as potential destinations were the Raiders, Texans, Buccaneers, and Commanders.

According to his Instagram page, Boise State defensive tackle Scott Matlock recently visited with the Patriots.

USC wide receiver Jordan Addison recently appeared on the Rich Eisen Show and revealed that he'll be traveling to Foxboro to visit with the Patriots for one of the club's Top 30 visits heading into the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Patriots are still exploring options at the receiver position heading into next month's NFL Draft, and are reportedly set to visit with Ole Miss receiver Jonathan Mingo.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, the Patriots are not in the mix among teams interested in Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, and instead are focused on seeing if Mac Jones can bounce back from a tough 2022 campaign. They also reportedly "like the idea" of back up Bailey Zappe "pushing him" heading into training camp.

The Boston Globe's Jim McBride recently caught up with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who clarified his recent "the last 25-years" comment that he referenced to give fans some optimism heading into 2023. Belichick said that it was in reference to their history, not their current approach. “We’re not resting on our past laurels; that’s not the message to the team or the fans,” said Belichick, “We have never operated that way and aren’t now.”

NBC Sports Boston's Tom Curran talked about the recent retirement ceremony for Devin McCourty and described the relationship between Belichick and Robert Kraft as appearing like there may be some friction between the two. "The non-committal verbiage (from Belichick) around Mac when you know that Robert is laying at your feet blame for Mac failing last year is probably the biggest wishbone in all of this," said Curran. "So, I think they're wary of each other, and they're kind of peeing on their territory."
