DENIED RELEASE BY BELICHICK TO REUNITE WITH COWBOYS

Apparently, the Dallas Cowboys tried to add a little more firepower heading into the postseason. According to FoxSports, the Cowboys were reportedly interested in bringing back Ezekiel Elliott for their playoff run. That would have required the Patriots cutting the veteran back, granting him the freedom to sign with his former team. According to Fox Sports. Elliott did make the request, but Bill Belichick denied him when he apparently requested to be released following the Patriots 4-13 finish. Elliott did go to AT&T stadium and was there cheering his former team on, but didn't get the opportunity to contribute.
