According to FoxSports, the Cowboys were reportedly interested in bringing back Ezekiel Elliott for their playoff run. That would have required the Patriots cutting the veteran back, granting him the freedom to sign with his former team. According to Fox Sports. Elliott did make the request, but Bill Belichick denied him when he apparently requested to be released following the Patriots 4-13 finish.
