Baker Mayfield was among names the Patriots had potentially been rumored to target this offseason, but it looks like he's staying in Tampa Bay. The veteran is reportedly finalizing a deal for 3-years, $100 million that will keep him with the Bucs for the foreseeable future.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots have agreed to terms on a 3-year extension for wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. The deal is reportedly worth $33 million and comes following a season where Bourne suffered a torn ACL. However, the prognosis on his injury has been positive, which is obviously confirmed by the news of his extension.

According to Mark Daniels of MassLive, the Patriots have reportedly made a "competitive 3-year offer" to linebacker Mack Wilson, but he'll instead test the free agent market.

Adam Schefter reports that the New England Patriots are trading Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Patriots will reportedly receive a 6th-round pick for the 15th overall selection out of Alabama in 2021, with Jones now headed back to his hometown to back up Trevor Lawrence with the Jaguars.

Tim Crowley of NESN.com reports that offensive tackle Trent Brown shared on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he and the Patriots will be “looking elsewhere” in regards to next season, with Brown essentially closing the door on a potential return to the club in 2024.

 Broncos safety Justin Simmons was released by the club and is reportedly expected to draw interest from the Patriots. The former Boston College standout was also previously on their radar, having been among players who visited with the team back in 2016 before being taken in the third round by Denver that year.

According to Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports, Bills special-teamer Siran Neal is on the Patriots' radar, with the club having reportedly expressed interest in him.

According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, teams have been inquiring about New England on Mac Jones, with a "fresh start" becoming more likely for the former first-round pick.
