In another bit of voting, the Patriots fared well in a recent Sports Business Journal and Sports Business Daily reader survey. Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft was the runaway selection as the NFL's most effective owner, claiming 52.6 percent of the nearly 1,000 responses. New England quarterback Tom Brady finished a sizable margin ahead of Manning as the league's most marketable player, with 43.7 percent of the votes to 23 percent for the Colts signal-caller. In somewhat of a surprise, Gillette Stadium finished in a close second (14.2 percent to 11.9) behind Lambeau Field as the NFL's best stadium. The Patriots' Bill Belichick (15.3 percent) finished second to Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski (30.3) in the ''coach who would make the best corporate executive" category. The NFL's Paul Tagliabue was named the top commissioner, garnering 51.4 percent of the vote to beat David Stern of the NBA.
