Um, YES, do this now... Barmore is worth what you are gonna pay him... top 5 averge pay? alright by me... 100M contract? works for me... dont care about the dollars... do care about getting his signature on the dotted line

Get it done Eliot.

we have too much free cap space that we need to spend i think. i wonder if we are doing this to get to cap floor, although not even sure the new contract would effect next year

They have plenty of money, do it now while we have it.

I’d rather see him put back to back seasons together before committing that much money to him. You’ll end up paying more, but you’ll have a better idea he wasn’t a fluke.

he's elevated his play every year.. I am willing to take that risk with someone elses' money.

The "cap floor" is not a thing right now. That is measured during windows of time that span specific years. 2024 is "Year 1" of a 4 year window. So even if they seriously under-spend this year, as long as they spend to a healthy extent on average over the next 3 years, they are fine.

Long story short - we don't need to be looking at the cap floor until 2026 at the earliest.

If that is the team's attitude, then Barmore should strongly consider other teams when he is able.

Unlike Onwenu and Dugger, there should be many suiters.

Ideal player to sign early. Security for Barmore and less overall $ for Pats than if they wait a year.

Most definitely a player that we should retain. I just hope the medical staff went above and beyond regarding his knee, shoulder, and any other injuries that he's had before doing a deal. If there are no concerns regarding the aforementioned, then they need to sign him this year, or he'll walk next year (or at least probably cost more to extend).

This is what I’ve been waiting for. Hopefully it happens soon so they can focus on signing the rookies and throwing down on some of the upcoming June 1st cuts.

He's not a fluke.

Do what BB would do. Leave him unsigned and let him test the market.

He who hesitates is lost, with the he being the Pats.
Extend this beast before he finds a better option somewhere else.
Sometimes you just gotta say, what the ****.

That’s what the Franchise Tag is for. A guy with no accolades should not get paid that much money yet after only one standout season. I’d be shocked if Bob backed up the Brink’s truck for him so soon.

No players like being tagged and that could actually chase him away eventually.
I like what I've seen and I'm willing to bet that Barmore will be a great investment for the future.
