Bills get a 2025 2nd round pick

Houston gets Diggs & a 2024 sixth-round pick & 2025 fifth-round pick

I'm pretty sure I'd do this deal... in a heartbeat...

Think Cincy would go for it? They would have to do a sign & trade, but it could be set up so they don't take any kind of financial hit...

lets go Wolf... Weaponize this offense...

Should be less since Diggs is better but it's not always that simple

agreed, nothing is ever simple...

I'd pay less for sure... but i would absolutely give up next years second to bring in Higgins this year... would go a long way to making this roster better...

Higgins - Douglas - Henry? I could dig that line up... would give Rham more room to run as well... worth that price, regardless of the dollar cost for Higgins...

Diggs is 30 (31 in November) and Higgins is 25 (26 in January). Diggs has a shelflife of a year anywhere before he goes full diva. I haven't heard anything bad about Higgens in those terms. I think he'll cost more.

Higgins is too much of a risk.

I’m not giving up a high pick AND massive contract for a #2
Phew... Good thing I'm not asking you to... I'm asking Eliot Wolf to...

but seriously, we need talent. Best way to get it? pay for it. Cash, picks, whatever. You will forget all about the cost if we have our first 1000 yard receiver since 2019 (Julian Edelman, 1117 yards)... the only thing you will be missing is a second round pick, and it will probably be some guy some have vaguely heard mentioned, and most will google immediately to check their stats/draft eval...

and if it doesn't pan out? we get something else to ***** about...

really, its a win-win scenario...

i get that... I would rather have Aiyuk from SF... but i don't think they would be willing to deal him...
Aiyuk isn't going anywhere, but he's hard to read based on Shanahan's offense. I don't like Higgins because he's a big lumbering WR in the mold of DeVante Parker relying on an accurate QB to deliver those 50/50 balls. I don't see an offense running through him. I'd rather have a better route runner like AB in his prime, Justin Jefferson, etc.

can't argue with that

only thing i will say is we are in desperation mode, and if we aren't, we should be... the 2024 Pats are seriously staring a two-three win (if we are lucky) season in the face

Thank you. Been saying this for awhile. He isn't suited for this team right now. He'd be great if we had QB/WR1 figured out.

He is a great teammate and can step up periodically when tasked. A perfect WR2, honestly. Just can't lean on him.

1/3 - Daniels / JJMC / Maye
2/34 - Best available OT / WR
3/68 - BPA OT / WR opposite of 34th pick

2025 2nd - Tee Higgins or Brandon Aiyuk (maybe need to throw in a 4th too for him)

That's not a bad outcome!

This ^

You have to pay Higgins, much more than he's actually worth I'm sure. So the trade value drops.

Diggs has no dead cap on his deal after this year and Buffalo is paying the freight. So you're just paying Diggs a massive salary for the three years left on his deal after this one... but only if you want to.

The Texans can cut him outright after this year and owe nothing in dead cap, it's a sweet deal. It's shades of Randy Moss to the Pats for a fourth, even if Diggs is a substantially lesser player. If he produces, you win, if he is toast... all you spent was some draft picks.

I'd take a solid WR2... we need one or ten of them

Its a Sellers market.

The Bengals are going to fleece some team if they want Higgins because the FA WR well is dry.

I like Higgins, but if I had a choice I’d roll with Aiyuk. He’s an elite route runner. Physical/patient in his routes, unique release vs man, diagnoses coverages and the leverage of defenders, uncovers quickly, finds the hole in zones, while simultaneously being a downfield threat. Much more versatile..

Higgins hold all the cards.

He could simply bet on himself and play 2024 for ONLY $21M and be a free agent next year.

The Bengals can get someone to give them a 2nd, but so what? Higgins doesn't have to sign the tag, a pre-requisite for any trade.
