I don't understand the fascination with Drake. Yes he has some good statistics but the tough teams he played each year beat him. He might be the guy but I don't see where his resume says he is close. The Pats have so many holes, everyone here knows that already, this is a three year re-work and better dam sure hope Mayo is up for it. Id say trade the Vikings two #1 picks and do as much damage as you can with it.
11, 23, AND 2025 R1 or no deal.

What about Jefferson for 2025 R1? I might do that because you can get both him and a rookie WR and suddenly weaponize this offense.
I think if they're targeting a rookie QB then what reason is there to trade Jefferson? They may as well pay him. QB will be cheap for 5 years.

I only ask because there's been a lot of chatter about wanting to move him. If they were willing to pay him, wouldn't they already have gone ahead and extended him?

Sure, on paper, but they if will move up to get a QB, they will want to keep their weapons.

Commanders are taking Daniels @ 2.
I hope so. His size scares me. Not saying the kid can't add some weight, but he has RG3 written all over him. Which is ironic. Wade's issues down the stretch concern me. And I do like Nix as a late rounder but that doesn't seem to be the case. And I also like McCarthy.

With that said, and as I have stated before, I really wanted Mac over everyone except Lawrence. Now I may not be wrong and he may still be the 2nd best QB out of the first rounders...but....so I'll leave the QB evaluations to others.

Care to share these reports? Kingsbury coached Caleb. Who's the most similar QB to Caleb, Maye or Daniels?
The reports mainly stem from The Athletic report. They asked 6 NFL executives who they think will be picked at each spot, 5 said Daniels, 1 said Maye but the one that said Maye said::

Mike Sando of The Athletic reported Commanders general manager Adam Peters is "really into" Maye despite five of six league executives pegging Daniels for the No. 2 slot.

Can't put it any simpler than this (for y'all wanting to trade down).

I am only advocating trading down if they determine that Williams/Maye/Daniels is not the guy. Do you want to stay at 3 and draft Rick Mirer? Josh Rosen? Daniel Jones? Brandon Wheeden? Locker? Gabbert? Ponder? Mark fekkin' Sanchez?

Of course you don't.

I am saying do your homework, make damned sure your right, and then make the decision with conviction. Don't be in love with the draft slot if your guy isn't The Guy. Move back, fill other holes.

If I were a betting man, I'd say we take our swing at 3 and Minnesota is trading to get ahead of the Giants. But it's impossible to tell who we like for QB.

Yea, that's their job, obviously. I'm encouraged by McAdoo supposedly making the correct projections on two former 1st rounders and on AvP knowing how to develop QBs. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

any stud WR or LT in the 2025 draft? just carry over the cap to next year, draft the QB they like at #3, let him sit and learn all year while Jacoby starts, pick top 5 in 2025, draft said stud WR or LT, and spend the cap in next years FA class

at this point there is no reason to start the QB this year unless they want to kill his confidence
This is probably the right way to go if we’re doing a rebuild in the correct way.

We might even be able to get a starting quality LT or WR in this year’s draft along with the QB if we play our cards right. If we can pull 2 out of the 3 glaring offensive needs from this draft; we should all do jumping jacks.

Pickett sucks but its funny how russel freaking Wilson caused this

It's not really that simple though.

Minnesota's roster is fairly complete, particularly on offense, and the difference between an A quarterback and a B quarterback for them could be the difference between title contention.

NE's offensive roster is a full of holes and they can either take the A quarterback, or trade down and take the B quarterback plus get extra picks to also get an A wide receiver/tackle plus more.

You can make the argument that you should take the better QB and just deal with the holes and plug them over the next couple years and you'll be better off for it in the long run, and that's certainly one way to look at it. But you can also more quickly build a more complete team with a trade down, and you know what kind of quality players are available in this draft in the first two rounds (there's a lot, and at positions that you have needs at), versus not knowing where you're picking down the road, what those free agent markets will look like, what those draft classes end up looking like, etc.
